Senior Business Analyst

Contract - Bellville
Responsibilities:
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate the development of business cases, strategic proposals, and conceptual solutions aligned to organisational objectives.
• Elicit, analyse, document, and manage business, functional, and data requirements.
• Analyse and model business processes, workflows, and system requirements using recognised methodologies.
• Validate solutions and ensure alignment with business strategy, project objectives, and operational needs.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagements, and requirements gathering sessions.
• Develop user stories, process maps, wireframes, prototypes, and functional specifications.
• Support Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, backlog management, inception phases, and Scrum ceremonies.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, architects, testers, change managers, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), software demonstrations, and end-user training.
• Investigate production incidents, change requests, and process improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to reporting, governance activities, project steering committees, and status updates.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Business Analysts and project teams where required.
• Support digital transformation, process optimisation, cloud migration, and data-driven initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with organisational standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, FTI or equivalent).
• Project Management qualification advantageous.
• MBA or experience with a Big Four consulting firm will be beneficial.
• Minimum 8+ years’ Business Analysis experience within Financial Services, Insurance, Reinsurance, or related transactional software environments.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to read, analyse, and execute queries.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Query experience.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Working knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience using Agile methodologies, Scrum frameworks, product backlogs, and user story development.
• Proficiency in UML, BPMN, Enterprise Architect, and other business analysis tools.
• Experience developing business cases, project concepts, roadmaps, and solution proposals.
• Strong stakeholder management experience across business and technical teams.
• Experience supporting software development lifecycle (SDLC) initiatives and large-scale transformation projects.
• Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) advantageous.
• Experience within short-term insurance, reinsurance, financial services, digital transformation, or data analytics environments will be advantageous.
