Senior Business Analyst

Responsibilities:
• Consult with business stakeholders to identify challenges, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate business case development aligned to strategic portfolio objectives.
• Elicit, document, validate, and maintain business and functional requirements across multiple initiatives.
• Analyse and model business processes, system integrations, and data requirements.
• Ensure solutions align with strategic, architectural, and regulatory objectives.
• Lead workshops, conduct stakeholder interviews, and translate business needs into clear, structured requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, Development, Testing, Change Management, and Digital teams.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, user acceptance testing, demonstrations, and training sessions.
• Investigate production incidents and manage change requests.
• Contribute to project governance, steering committee reporting, and monthly status updates.
• Support ongoing system modernisation, cloud migration, data integrity, and reporting enhancements.
• Drive process optimisation initiatives, including Lean Six Sigma improvements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends within short-term insurance, reinsurance, and digital transformation.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, standards, and methodologies.

Experience:
• Relevant IT Degree or Diploma in Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science or related field.
• Recognised Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP or equivalent).
• Project Management qualification advantageous.
• MBA or prior consulting experience (e.g., Big Four) advantageous.
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Financial Services with exposure to transactional systems.
• Strong experience within short-term insurance, reinsurance, or financial services environments (advantageous).
• Proven experience leading or mentoring Business Analysts within a competency.
• Writing business cases, project concepts, proposals, and business models.
• Cost estimation, budget management, benefit definition, and roadmap development.
• Requirements elicitation, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder engagement across multiple levels.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, backlog management, sprint planning, inception phases).
• Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in complex enterprise environments.
• UML and BPMN modelling (essential).
• Enterprise Architect and case tools (essential).
• Supporting UAT, defining test strategies, reviewing test cases and results.
• Solid SQL knowledge (read and execute queries).
• Strong Excel and Power Query capabilities.
• Experience in data analysis and visualisation tools (Power BI or Tableau).
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) advantageous.
• Exposure to digital environments (CRM, AI, automation/robotics).
• Applied working knowledge of Large Language Models (e.g., Microsoft Copilot).
